Vertical Entertainment has released an official trailer for The Head Hunter (previously titled simply The Head), a fantasy horror flick which is being released soon.
The movie follows a medieval warrior who collects the heads of the monsters he kills. But there is one head which eludes him: the head of the monster that killed his daughter; a head which he’s on a determined quest to acquire so that he will have the vengeance he seeks.
You can find a synopsis for The Head Hunter and check out the trailer along with a poster below.
SYNOPSIS:
On the outskirts of a kingdom, a quiet but fierce medieval warrior protects the realm from monsters and the occult. His gruesome collection of heads is missing only one – the monster that killed his daughter years ago. Driven by a thirst for revenge, he travels wild expanses on horseback, using sorcery to aid in his quest. When his second chance arrives, it’s in a way far more horrifying than he ever imagined. A heartbreaking fairytale with a black soul, the film is constructed with very few elements, minimalistic and epic at the same time, where fantasy and horror find their more physical and gory incarnations.
The movie stars Christopher Rygh and Cora Kaufman. It’s directed by Jordan Downey, who previously wrote and directed the Thanksgiving horror ThanksKilling and its sequel ThanksKilling 3, as well as a Critters short titled Critters: Bounty Hunter. Downey also co-wrote the screenplay with Kevin Stewart, who also co-wrote the ThanksKilling movies with Downey.
The Head Hunter is set to be released in limited theaters and on digital and video on demand services on April 5th.
