Zack Snyder Reveals Original ‘Justice League’ Script Was Never Shot
  |  @   |

And so begins another episode of the tiresome saga of Zack Snyder version of Justice League that never was. Everyone has their thoughts on the matter, with devoted fans demanding that Warner Bros. release the co-called “Snyder Cut.” It is a cut that they believe exists from before he had to exit to address some personal matters. Though many behind the scenes have said it doesn’t exist to begin with, it’s unclear if the film would have made it any better (or worse). But one thing is for sure: we aren’t going to get it.

And now Snyder reveals why. According to him, the original Justice League script was never shot. More on the report below.

Snyder addressed some of the issues that people had with Justice League during a Q&A of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director’s edition. Screen Rant was in attendance to cover the event. During that time he talked about how he and co-writer Chris Terrio had to jump into the Justice League script as soon as they were done with BvS:

It’s not exactly fair to say that “a vocal minority” did not like BvS, when there are numerous reviews out there that prove a lot of critics didn’t like the film. Although, some did like Justice League a smidge more than BvS, the DC hero ensemble was still very messy. And in the wake of those bad BvS reviews, Warner Bros. found themselves scrambling to fix the situation before it could get any worse. And with Snyder finishing principal photography, and exiting to address those personal matters, Joss Whedon stepped in to punch up some of the script and do some reshoots.

But it’s clear that Snyder shot a version of Justice League. It just wasn’t his version. But he had always intended on readdressing some of the key moments from BvS in Justice League. Moments like the Knightmare sequence and The Flash coming into Bruce’s dream about if he found the key or not:

Snyder even revealed a crazy time traveling sequence that would have played a part in Justice League, which might have explained the Flash dream sequence we saw in BvS:

Okay, hang on, Darkseid would have boom tubed into the Batcave to kill Lois? That wouldn’t have been out of the DCEU norm, at the time, considering all the shared universe was composed of was dark and brooding moments.

All of this goes to show how interesting of a documentary this would be. Seeing those behind-the-scenes moments that very few of us know about, and I’m sure there is someone out there putting all of them together for a great piece. But we won’t really get to the heart of the matter until those truly involved speak out about it. Until then, we will just have to get these little morsels.
