Netflix has announced that they’ve ordered a new series from Austin Powers and Wayne’s World star Mike Myers. The series will be executive produced by Myers, who will also star.
Details on the series are scarce. It doesn’t even have a title yet. But Netflix does share that it will be a half hour limited comedy series, which will see Myers playing a variety of different characters.
Of the announcement, Myers shared this brief quote:
“I love creating characters, and Netflix has given me a fantastic playground to play in.”
Executive producing alongside Myers will be John Lyons and Jason Weinberg, while Mackenzie Cyr and Justin Capraro-Gentuso will be associate producers on the untitled series.
In addition to starring in the Austin Powers series and Wayne’s World and its sequel, Myers is also known for his time on Saturday Night Live and voicing the title character in the Shrek franchise. Other credits include So I Married an Axe Murderer, Mystery Alaska, The Cat in the Hat, The Love Guru, Inglourious Basterds, and most recently Bohemian Rhapsody.
Netflix’s untitled Mike Myers series will consist of six episodes. No release window for the show has been announced yet.
