‘Bond 25’ Set To Start Principal Photography; Plot Details and Filming Locations Revealed
  |  @   |

Although Bond 25 had a very long and troubled development, it was still able to land Cary Joji Fukunaga as director after Danny Boyle stepped down due to creative differences.

With principal photography for Bond 25 set to begin in just a few short days, Fukunaga has announced the full cast that will appear in the latest chapter of the franchise that will see Daniel Craig return for his fifth and final time as James Bond. Additionally, a plot synopsis has also been shared.

Fukunaga confirmed the returning cast, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Jeffrey Wright and introduced Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen, and Rami Malek.

Although the title was not a part of the official announcement, the press release did come with a plot synopsis that helps us understand what Bond has been doing all this time since we last saw him in Spectre:

Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

So it looks like James Bond was happily living in Jamaica as a retired man. But just as he is enjoying retirement, he is pulled back in by Felix Leiter (Wright), who asks him to help him on a mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist. But 007 will run into a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

While we know the roles of the returning cast, it’s not clear who any of the newcomers will play. It has been reported that Malek will play the villain, who is of North African descent and is blind. But that has yet to be confirmed. And the vague plot synopsis doesn’t really give us any insight on who any of the newcomers will be.

Scott Burns and Phoebe Waller-Bridge were recently brought in to punch up a script written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.

The 007 production will be based at Pinewood Studios in the UK, and on location in London, Italy, Jamaica, and Norway. You can watch the full production announcement video in the embed below.

Bond 25 will hit U.S.theaters on April 8, 2020, and internationally April 3, 2020.
