But the actor has found a leak of the full film that was posted on YouTube late last night. While he made sure to bring it to Warner Brothers’ attention, it looks like the studio has taken no action whatsoever. Of course, there may be a clever reason for that. Check out the video below.
Okay, so the video, from the YouTube channel Inspector Pikachu, is just Pikachu dancing on a loop. But it almost had us believe that it is the full movie with the studio tag openings. Soon enough, the video reveals itself to be nothing more than a marketing gag. It’s a sort of homage to the VHS exercise videos of the ’80s, complete with a bright neon background and synthesized sounds. And this thing goes on for an entire hour and 30 minutes. So don’t expect to see any leaks or spoilers. It’s just Pikachu doing the same thing over and over again for that length of time.
But you have to hand it to Reynolds and WB for releasing this.
Also starring in the film is Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, and Ken Watanabe, with Reynolds providing the voice of the electric wise-cracking titular character.
