Marvel Studios’ Phase 3 may be coming to a close with Spider-Man: Far From Home, but they will usher in Phase 4 with a slew of new features from sequels to original titles. One of those original titles is The Eternals.
The Wrap says that Salma Hayek is currently in talks to join Marvel’s The Eternals cast. However, details as to who she might be playing have not been revealed. Which can be said for most of the cast. The only one who has been confirmed is Jolie, who will play Serei, a superpowered being with superhuman strength and durability, and molecular and atomic manipulation, who isn’t afraid to walk amongst humans.
First published in 1976, The Eternals followed one of two products created by The Celestials, who conducted genetic experiments on early proto-humanity. And the other is the genetically unstable and monstrously grotesque Deviants.
Hayek is known for her roles in Desperado, Frida, From Dusk till Dawn, Wild Wild West, and Once Upon a Time in Mexico. She has recently appeared in How to Be a Latin Lover and The Hitman’s Bodyguard. Her upcoming roles include Limited Partners and The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard.
Written by Matthew Firpo and Ryan Firpo, The Eternals has no release date as of yet. But with Disney revealing their slate of films set for release, we can expect to see it hit theaters sometime in 2022.
Of course, we could possibly hear about a release date either at San Diego Comic-Con next month or D23 Expo in August. We will just have to keep you posted.
