SDCC 2019: Shudder Releases First ‘Creepshow’ Trailer
  |  @   |

San Diego Comic-Con is in full effect this weekend and while yesterday was a huge day for movie trailer debuts, today horror fans can rejoice as we get our first trailer for the highly anticipated Creepshow series coming to Shudder this September. Based on the original anthology film from 1982 which saw a collaboration between horror geniuses Stephen King and George A. Romero, the new series is run by Greg Nicotero, the effects wizard who has essentially been the backbone of AMC’s The Walking Dead for years now.

Shudder released a ton of info on the introductory season, including details about the two stories in the first episode. The first features an adaptation of the Stephen King story “Gray Matter,” starring Adrienne Barbeau (who starred in the original 1982 classic), Tobin Bell (Saw), and Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad). It’s adapted by Byron Willinger and Philip de Blasi (The Commuter) and directed by Nicotero. The other is “House of the Head,” written by Josh Malerman (Bird Box) and directed by John Harrison (Book of Blood, Tales from the Crypt), who was the first assistant director for George Romero on the original film.

Other stories for the series will be based on the works of Joe Lansdale, Joe Hill, David Schow, and more, and will star the likes of David Arquette, DJ Qualls, Kid Cudi, Big Boi, Bruce Davison, Dana Gould, Jeffrey Combs, and Tricia Helfer. The new Creepshow series looks ready to breathe some fresh air into the anthology horror space.

Creepshow the series premieres on Shudder on Thursday, September 26, 2019. SDCC continues throughout this weekend. AMC’s Shudder offers the best selection of horror and suspense of any streaming service and is only $5.99 a month or $4.75 a month for an annual subscription, plus you can get a free 7-day trial by going to www.Shudder.com.
