Everyone’s fan-favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe anti-hero and occasional villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) will be making a move to the small screen in the upcoming series Loki.
It was announced last year that Loki will be appearing in a show coming to Disney+, Disney’s exclusive streaming series. While there has been some wild speculations and unconfirmed rumors on what we could see in the show and how the character will function in it, it seems that Avengers: Endgame laid out all the groundwork for the series. Spoilers below for anyone who might be behind on Marvel movies.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told everyone in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con that Loki doesn’t die in Endgame.
Here’s what Borys Kit of THR tweeted out:
LOKI is coming to Disney+…But didn't he die in ENDGAME, Feige asks….This series will tell you where Loki went after ENDGAGE…and the firsrt place he went to is Hall H…Tom Hiddleston on stage.
Sure, the Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn’t follow the rules of time travel as any other film or TV show, but at least we know that Loki is still alive and he somehow managed to survive to have his neck snapped by Thanos.
It was previously thought that the Loki TV series would act as a sort of Quantum Leap show, with the Loki posing as different people and causing all sorts of mischief throughout time and space. That still may be true, especially now that Captain America has returned all of the Infinity Stones to its rightful place and time.
And it looks like the TV series will give Loki a chance to play around in a way that he never could in the film realm.
Here’s what Ryan Penagos, Vice President & Creative Executive of Marvel New Media, tweeted out:
So it should be interesting to see what kind of impact Loki will have on the MCU timeline.
Loki will appear exclusively on Disney+ in spring 2020.
