To kick off Gamescom 2019 last night Geoff Keighley, the man behind the yearly Game Awards, hosted an opening night showcase.
Closing out this showcase was the great Hideo Kojima, who was on hand to share some new trailers for Death Stranding, his highly anticipated first non-Metal Gear game as director since 1994’s Policenauts—not counting the P.T. demo for the Silent Hill game we’ll never get to play, sadly. Kojima shared three new character trailers for the game, found below, one of which includes new peeks at gameplay footage.
First up below you can find the three new character trailers for Death Stranding starting with the one that shares new gameplay footage, which also introduces Kojima’s friend Keighley as one of the characters. That’s followed by a trailer for the character Mama (Margaret Qualley), and a trailer featuring Guillermo del Toro and Jesse Corti‘s character Deadman. You can also find a trailer for the character Heartman (Nicolas Winding Refn, Darren Jacobs), which was released a couple of weeks back for anyone who hasn’t seen it.
Also lending their talents to the game is Norman Reedus, Lea Seydoux, Lindsay Wagner, Mads Mikkelsen, and Tommie Earl Jenkins.
After those character trailers below you can find the full segment from the Gamescom 2019 opening night showcase, including Kojima himself if you’d prefer to watch it how it was presented and see what he had to say.
