Corporate Animals Movie

Screen Media Films has released a NSFW red band trailer for Corporate Animals, an upcoming dark comedy. The movie comes from Patrick Brice, who previously co-wrote, directed, and starred in the awesome 2014 microbudget horror Creep with fellow star and co-writer Mark Duplass, and also wrote and directed The Overnight and co-wrote (with Duplass once again) and directed Creep 2. The screenplay was written by Sam Bain (Four Lions, Peep Show).

The title features an excellent cast, with Demi Moore, Jessica Williams, Karan Soni, Ed Helms, Nasim Pedrad, Isiah Whitlock Jr., and Calum Worthy all starring. In it, Moore plays a CEO who takes her employees on a team building retreat, a trip which turns into a massive disaster.

You can find more info on Corporate Animals and check out the red band trailer below.

The movie was an official selection for the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. Here’s more info on it from the Sundance website:

Lucy (Demi Moore) is the egotistical, megalomaniac CEO of Incredible Edibles, America’s premier provider of edible cutlery. In her infinite wisdom, Lucy leads her staff, including her long-suffering assistants, Freddie (Karan Soni) and Jess (Jessica Williams), on a corporate team-building caving weekend in New Mexico. When disaster strikes, not even their useless guide, Brandon (Ed Helms), can save them. Trapped underground by a cave-in, this mismatched and disgruntled group must pull together in order to survive.

Director Patrick Brice brings together an unlikely cast of characters, locks them in a cave, and lets them go. What follows is a nightmarish study of human social interaction, all the while asking the question: What happens when people stop competing against each other and band together against their oppressor? Brice creatively weaves each character’s arc into the larger theme, playing their humanity against their animality as they fall prey to their base nature. Twelve people trapped in a cave, food is depleting, truths are revealed, betrayals and manipulations are exposed, alliances are made””what could possibly go wrong?

Corporate Animals will be released in select theaters and on video on demand services this September 20th.

NOTE: if this sounds like a movie you might dig but prefer knowing as little as possible going in, you may want to steer clear of the trailer.

Trailer

A delusional CEO (Demi Moore) takes her staff of misfits on a disastrous team building retreat led by an overeager guide (Ed Helms). When catastrophe strikes and the food runs out, mandatory office bonding becomes a lot more… appetizing.
