‘See’ Trailer: Jason Momoa Protects Those That Have Vision
  |  @   |

When Apple TV+ launches later this fall, it won’t have much of anything to watch. That being said, it will start to release more and more original content in the weeks after its release. One of the biggest titles is See, which Apple has released an official trailer for.

Written by Steven Knight (Eastern Promises) and directed by Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay), it is set in a future where man can no longer see and are forced to “find new ways to interact, to build, to hunt, to survive.” But their new ways are challenged when a set of twins who have the ability to see are born. The series stars Jason Momoa as the leader of a tribe and the father of the two children who can see. Check out the trailer below.

Also starring is Alfre Woodard (Luge Cage, Captain America: Civil War), and Yadira Guevara-Prip, Nesta Cooper, Sylvia Hoeks, Archie Madekwe, Christian Camargo, and Hera Hilmar.

Sure there are some Birdbox elements in this, but rather than hide from the monsters or blindfold themselves from being unable to see them, the characters are blind and need to learn how to navigate around their surroundings. Visually, it has that survivalist and village look. But maybe that has to do with the fact that Peter Chernin (The Revenant and War for the Planet of the Apes) produced the show.

Here’s the official synopsis for See:

In the far future, a virus has decimated humankind. Those who survived emerged blind. Jason Momoa stars as Baba Voss, the father of twins born centuries later with the mythic ability to see””who must protect his tribe against a powerful yet desperate queen who believes its witchcraft and wants them destroyed. Alfre Woodard also stars as Paris, Baba Voss’ spiritual leader.

As aforementioned, Apple TV+ may not have an expansive library as of yet, but it will eventually grow. But See looks like it will be one of their most expensive. According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple is spending nearly $15 million per episode.

The first three episodes of See premiere on November 1, 2019, and then one episode will be released weekly after that.
