Back in July we saw the first trailer for The Irishman. The film is the latest from Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, The Departed, Gangs of New York, and The Wolf of Wall Street director Martin Scorsese, and Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci all star.
The story unfolds over the course of multiple decades, and it chronicles the unsolved mystery surrounding the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa. Click on over to the other side for the trailer, a synopsis, and some bonus goodies.
SYNOPSIS:
Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci star in Martin Scorsese’s THE IRISHMAN, an epic saga of organized crime in post-war America told through the eyes of World War II veteran Frank Sheeran, a hustler and hitman who worked alongside some of the most notorious figures of the 20th century.
Spanning decades, the film chronicles one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in American history, the disappearance of legendary union boss Jimmy Hoffa, and offers a monumental journey through the hidden corridors of organized crime: its inner workings, rivalries and connections to mainstream politics.
The Irishman will be released in select theaters on November 1st in anticipation of an awards season run, followed by a release on Netflix on November 27th.
Sheeran’s humble, blue-collar Pennsylvania upbringing eventually led him to the US military, and his service in World War II took him around the world.
After being discharged from the army, Sheeran made ends meet by driving trucks. He made a little bit more by skimming some product off the side, which caught the attention of people in a similar line of "extracurricular" work. pic.twitter.com/boR9TqCX8c
He eventually earned the trust of Russell Bufalino, who, according to Sheeran, would one day put him on the phone with Jimmy Hoffa. The subject matter of that call? Painting houses, of course. pic.twitter.com/YZT85b6juL
