‘The Mandalorian’ Trailer 2: ‘Star Wars’ Gets Into The Bounty Hunting Business
  |  @   |

Disney+ has released the second trailer for the highly anticipated and very ambitious The Mandalorian. Set five years after the events of The Return of the Jedi and twenty-five years before The Force Awakens, the series centers on a nameless gunfighter who is trying to survive in the era of the new republic by heading to the outer rim of space.

Pedro Pascal will play the titular character in the new series which was created by Jon Favreau. Check out the trailer below.

This being the second trailer for the upcoming series, there is a lot more content to chew on in terms of plot and action. By the looks of things, Werner Herzog‘s character has hired the title character for a job to retrieve something of great importance. Of course, we don’t know much of anything about this MacGuffin, other than the fact that members of the fallen Empire may also want it or at least give him some problems.

But at least he will not be alone. It looks like he will be aided by characters played by Gina Carano, Taika Waititi, and Carl Weathers. The series also stars Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, and Bill Burr.

If anything, I am looking forward to seeing a Star Wars series that has nothing to do with the Skywalker saga but stays within that universe. That is part of what I liked about the spinoffs. That we got to see the other stories set in the same universe that did not have to deal with the Force or the war between the Jedi and the Sith.

Here’s the official plot synopsis:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. “The Mandalorian” is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Disney+ is purposefully keeping things vague about the new series. But despite that lack of knowing or time to prove itself, Favreau and the studio have full confidence in it. So much so that they are already working on season 2.

Not only that, but they’ve brought together quite a talented group of directors to helm episodes. Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, Deborah Chow, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Waititi each have directed an episode for the debut season.

The Mandalorian is set to make its streaming debut on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, and that will be followed by another new episode that Friday. After that, new episodes will be released every Friday.
