marvel april 2014

Marvel has some big plans for the reboot of the Marvel Universe as well as new titles in the Marvel proper universe, and has released previews for Elektra #1, Ultimate FF #1, and a look at the Spider-Verse featuring every Spider-Man ever! Check out the previews here below.

The Future Foundation is back rising from the Cataclysm of the Ultimate universe with a new team made up of Tony Stark, Sam Wilson, Sue Storm, and Machine Man. In the first arc, Doctor Doom joins the team as well. Could this be the return of the brain trust that Reed Richards hinted at in the first issue of Survive? Ultimate FF #1, the start of a new series from writer Joshua Hale Fialkov and artist Mario Guevara, hits shelves on April 16, 2014.

When Marvel decided to to rip the Ultimate Universe apart, they made the decision to send in Galactus to handle that business. The shockwaves, of course, rippled through all of the Ultimate Comics Universe, but the main story took place in Cataclysm: The Ultimates Last Stand. Now with that event series complete, Marvel has teased Survive, the next chapter in the retooling of the Ultimate Universe that follows the aftermath of the Cataclysm.

Survive #1 will begin the building of a new Ultimates team, it will reveal all of the heroes that died, and it will begin to reveal what will become of S.H.I.E.L.D. The book hits store shelves and digital apps on March 26, 2014, but is available for pre-order now. For now we have a preview of some of the art from the first issue of this new series – check it out here below.

Marvel’s latest universe-shattering event has been a pretty compact little story compared to other recent event stories such as Civil War that seemed to span way too many books and take forever to finish. The Cataclysm story will finish in only 5 issues with the February release of Cataclysm: The Ultimates Last Stand #5 from writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mark Bagley.

We have a preview for you of what’s to come in Cataclysm: The Ultimates Last Stand #5 — check it out here below.

King Conan: The Conqueror #1 preview

In the wake of the announcement that the Star Wars comics line will be making an exodus from Dark Horse Comics, the publisher has been releasing plenty of teasers for what they have in store to replace the iconic franchise. Thus far we haven’t really seen a new series or franchise that’s as epic as Star Wars, but instead we’re being treated to a myriad of titles that offer up a wider scope of storytelling styles and genres. In the end the loss of Star Wars by Dark Horse may equal a gain for fans of alternative comic book stories with the company’s choices in filling the void.

We’ve already seen previews of the upcoming Tomb Raider and Terminator series and now we have a new Conan offering on the way titled King Conan: The Conqueror. In this new series, Conan is a fugitive on the run trying to find the key to regaining his throne.

King Conan: The Conqueror is written by Tim Truman with art from Tomás Giorello. King Conan: The Conqueror #1 will be released on February 26, 2014 and is available for pre-order now. We’ve got an 8-page preview of the first issue here below.
