Captain America: Civil War opened with $181.1 million last weekend, giving it the fifth highest opening weekend. Globally, the film is closing in on $500 million and will likely pass $700 million soon. In addition to its commercial success, critics gave the film overwhelmingly positive reviews – you can read our reviews here and here.
In the past few weeks, artists over at Poster Posse have been sharing their take on the film through various prints from different artists. To show their appreciation to the fans who enjoyed the film and to those who have seen it multiple times, Disney Movie Rewards and Fandango have teamed up to give one free Captain America: Civil War poster. Check out the full details below to see how you can obtain it, and two more posters to complete the set.

VICE Profile: ‘Star Wars,’ ‘Jurassic Park’ Animator Phil Tippett (Video)
|
VICE has released a profile titled “My Life In Monsters,” which looks at the life and work of Phil Tippett, the Academy Award winning visual effects artist who has worked on movies like Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, RoboCop, Willow, Jurassic Park, and Starship Troopers. And yes, he is the very same “You Had One Job” Phil Tippett credited as the Dinosaur Supervisor on Jurassic Park.
The profile runs over 22 minute in length, beginning with Tippett’s first inspiration to get into the world of stop-motion and visual effects: the work of the great Ray Harryhausen, and more specifically his 1958 film The 7th Voyage of Sinbad and covering some of his most notable work such as the cantina scene, tauntauns, AT-ATs, Jabba the Hutt, and Rancor in the Star Wars universe, ED-209 in RoboCop, the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park, and more. It also looks at his phenomenally dark and twister crowdfunded stop-motion project titled Mad God.

Matt Hawkins, President of Top Cow Comics and mega-badass, has been kind enough to offer up a few signed goodies for us to give away our readers. The contest is pretty simple: you vote on your favorite Witchblade cover and if it matches mine, you get a prize! No, wait…that’s not the rule. Sorry, my bad. The real rules are that I will randomly pick two contestants, regardless of their choice of cover (mainly because all of the covers are awesome)! But additionally, one of the folks who votes for the most popular cover will get the third prize. So, pick your favorite cover out of the three dozen shown here below, and send us your vote via Twitter. Three awesome Witchblade prints signed by none other than Marc Silvestri are available, folks…so take a shot!
Entry details below!

You Can Watch Bob Ross Paint With Thousands Of Other People Right Now
|
One of my many fond memories from childhood is sitting and watching Mr. Bob Ross paint on his show The Joy of Painting. I can’t tell you how many times I dozed off to his comforting voice, but I have no doubt the number would be astronomical. His impact on me has been a lasting one—right this very moment, I have 46 episodes of The Best of the Joy of Painting stored on my DVR for whenever I feel like throwing one on to fall asleep to (they air them on the TV channel Create). He wasn’t the greatest painter of all time, but he shared a technique that made it accessible to anyone, and did it in the most appealing way possible.
So you can imagine my joy at the news that Twitch is currently streaming all 403 episodes of Ross’s painting series as part of their new spinoff Twitch Creative where, instead of streaming themselves playing video games, which is what Twitch is best known for, users will stream themselves drawing, painting, and creating other forms of arts and crafts.
