D23 Expo 2019: ‘Frozen 2’ Footage Shows Anna and Elsa’s Past With New Songs
  |  @   |

Disney’s D23 Expo tends to close out its studio panel in a very big way, and they did that by giving attendees a first look today at some scenes from Frozen 2. A sequel to 2013’s massively successful Frozen, the animated film continues the adventures of Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel), who journey with their friends Olaf (Josh Gad), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), and Sven (also Groff) outside of the comfort of the kingdom of Arendelle, to discover the truth about Elsa’s powers and what happened to their parents. Along the way, they will discover where Anna and Elsa’s parents were going and that the past isn’t what it appears to be. See more below for our on-site coverage from D23.

D23 Expo 2019: Emma Stone Will Bring Punk Rock Vibes To Disney’s Live-Action Film ‘Cruella’
  |  @   |

Disney will be continuing their course to release more live-action adaptations of their animated classics as long as they are box office successes. But bringing 101 Dalmatians’ character Cruella De Vil to the big screen in a live-action feature might take a different approach to some of the previous films. Like with Maleficent, Cruella will center on the titular character’s evil journey. The upcoming live-action movie will star Emma Stone as Cruella, a diva and practitioner of cruelty to animals.

Although Stone couldn’t be at the D23 Expo this weekend, attendees were treated to a first look at Stone as Cruella. See more below for our on-site coverage from D23.

D23 Expo 2019: ‘Jungle Cruise’ Footage Shows Dwayne Johnson & Emily Blunt Have Different Perspectives On Their Adventure
  |  @   |

Based on the popular Disneyland ride that could be found in all Disney theme parks across the globe, the Jungle Cruise will be in theaters in 2020. Though production for the film wrapped last year, director Jaume Collet-Serra has been putting the finishing touches on the film to help it get ready for its summer release. And since this was our very first look at the film, it had to be introduced in a very special way at this weekend’s D23 Expo.

Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt were both on hand at the convention to talk about the upcoming film, which takes some inspiration from The African Queen starring Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn. See more below for our on-site coverage from D23.

D23 Expo 2019: ‘Black Widow’ Footage Reveals David Harbour As Red Guardian
  |  @   |

After making her debut in 2010’s Iron Man 2, Scarlett Johansson‘s Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow finally makes her standalone film debut in Black Widow. Taking place after the events of Captain America: Civil War, the long-awaited film sees Natasha returning home and being met with a very unfriendly welcome. However, there is much more to it than that, as her return home also marks a family reunion of sorts.

While the cast was not on hand at the D23 Expo this weekend, Marvel Studios did share some interesting footage from the film. More on all of that here below.

D23 Expo 2019: ‘Mulan’ Promises To Be A Large-Scale Live-Action Epic With A Touch Of Disney Magic
  |  @   |

Mulan is considered to be one of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ crown jewels and given Disney’s success with their live-action adaptations of their animated classics, it only makes sense that they look towards turning 1998’s Mulan into a live-action film. However, instead of following in the footsteps of other films that merely retell the original story, like Cinderella and Beauty and The Beast, Mulan will be depicted as a large-scale epic that sees the titular character (played by Liu Yifei) do anything to protect the family that she loves, even if it means disguising herself as a man so that her ailing father does not have to go to war.

Check out our coverage of the film from this weekend’s D23 Expo here below.
