‘Avengers: Endgame’ Passes ‘Avatar’ To Become The Highest Grossing Movie Of All-Time
There was a point in time when it looked like Avengers: Endgame wasn’t going to make it past James Cameron‘s Avatar as the highest-grossing movie of all-time. Though it was a pretty arbitrary milestone that is practically meaningless, because we all know which is the better of the two films.
Not that the title would have given Avengers: Endgame any more validation it needs, but it has happened, as confirmed by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who announced the news to a packed Hall H at the San Diego Comic-Con. More on all of this below.

For those Marvel fans who cannot live with the fact that Avatar is still the highest grossing film of all-time, you have another chance to help give Avengers: Endgame the boost it needs to pass James Cameron’s film.
Marvel Studios’ latest is only $45 million shy of crossing Avatar‘s 2.787 billion worldwide. And just to be sure that the re-release isn’t just the same cut of the film that came out way back in late April, there will be some additions to the newest cut of Avengers: Endgame, namely extra footage that never made it in the original cut and a tribute. ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Breaks More and More Box Office Records In A Snap
Avengers: Endgame is quickly showing how much of a box office powerhouse it has become since it opened 12 days ago. After it debuted to a very impressive $1.2 billion worldwide, the film continued its dominance at the theaters, overshadowing the likes of newcomers like Long Shot, The Intruder, and Uglydolls. Not only that, but it’s reached $2 billion faster than any other movie; only four other films have made that rare accomplishment.
