When Marvel releases one of their installments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s fun to take a look at what nods the filmmakers have made to the comic book source material. On the most recent episode of the This Week In Marvel podcast, host Ryan Penagos, aka Agent M, talked with Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame Visual Effects Supervisor Dan DeLeeuw about some of the comic book Easter eggs found in the latest film. Watch a video clip of the segment where below.
Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame is out now on Digital (with an option to get the bonus features), while the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD editions will be released on August 13, 2019 and are available now for preorder.
Marvel is teasing details of its new MMORPG based on the Marvel Universe by setting up a protected twitter account under the guise of M.M.M. Society (@MMMSociety). The account’s description reads, “The Marvel Massively Multiplayer Society is your gateway to the Marvel Universe, Marvel’s upcoming epic MMO” and features a link to a password-protected Tumblr page.
Comic fans have been awaiting news of a Marvel MMO ever since the company terminated its plans to create a game with City of Heroes developers Cryptic Studios, (which later morphed into Champions Online).
The MMM Society is the first bit of news we’ve heard regarding the company’s MMO since 2009, when Geeks of Doom was alerted to a job posting seeking developers for the project. But while a covert promotional campaign about a Marvel MMO may signal that we’ll start to see some concrete information about what to expect from the game, it will likely be years before it launches.
If you don’t know who Agent M is, you either aren’t on Twitter or you live under a rock. Agent M is the alias of Marvel.com Editor and blogger Ryan Penagos and today is his birthday.
We here at Geeks of Doom appreciate a chap like Ryan because he makes our job easier. He is the bridge that continuously connects the gap between fanboy and comic book creator. And as such, we wanted to go beyond the simple 140-character birthday well wishes.
Also, we needed an excuse to publish the bad ass “Agent M” 1991 Impel/Skybox “Marvel Trading Card” Photoshop Art I did several months ago.
