Releasing the first trailer for a blockbuster film during the Super Bowl isn’t a completely new strategy. But it is one that will get the most eyes considering that it is one of the most watched games on the planet. And with companies spending up to $5 million for each commercial, you can bet that each studio is going to put their best – or at least blockbustery – film out there. And to get ahead of that, some, like Paramount, are releasing teaser posters to generate some interest.
The first poster for Mission: Impossible – Fallout has been released. The film is the sixth installment of the long-running franchise, which sees Tom Cruise reprising his role as Ethan Hunt once more. Check out the poster below.

“Hunt is the living manifestation of destiny and he has made you his mission.”
Directed by Brian De Palma and starring Tom Cruise, 1996’s Mission: Impossible was a critical and commercial success. Based on the 1960s CBS television series, the adaptation became the third highest-grossing film of that year, bested only by Twister and Independence Day.
Five movies and two decades later, the Mission: Impossible franchise shows no signs of slowing. The latest installment, Christopher McQuarrie‘s Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, is an action-packed spy thriller that’s bolder than Bond and more fun than Furious 7.
There’s no denying that Tom Cruise is one of the biggest movies stars ever to walk this little planet we all call home. But what separates him from most other big stars out there is his willingness to take on many of the unbelievable stunts required of the role that he’s playing all by himself.
Many of these wild and crazy stunts have been done in his time playing Ethan Hunt in the Mission: Impossible movie franchise. We saw the biggest of them in 2011’s Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, in which Cruise actually dangled off the side of the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. It was the biggest he’s ever performed, that is. But not anymore. When Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation is released on July 31st, that stunt will be surpassed in a big way when moviegoers watch Cruise hanging from the side of a freakin’ airplane as it takes off.
We’ve seen a preview of the stunt in trailers for the movie, and now a new video has been released offering a behind the scenes peek at Cruise being strapped to the side of the plane and hanging on for dear life as it takes off. You can check it out below.
Paramount has released the first TV spot for Mission: Impossible 5 or as it’s now newly titled Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation, starring Tom Cruise, on this quiet Sunday morning. Ever since the film moved up five months from its December release to a safer July one, far away from the juggernaut that is Star Wars: The Force Awakens, fans have been eagerly waiting for a glimpse of what director Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher) has in store for them.
The ad runs at a minute long, and debuted before the release of the full trailer, which drops Monday. We actually get a good deal of info about the plot, as well as some exciting footage of the action in 60 seconds. Hit the jump to check out to see TV spot.
