Apparently, I’ve been in denial for the past year about Rush‘s retirement, because I watched the band’s new documentary, Time Stand Still, which focuses on their 2015 final major tour, and now I’m crying.

In this feature-length documentary, the Canadian trio opens up about saying good-bye to the band as they know it after 40 years of life on the road, most of which was to sell-out crowds around the world. While guitarist Alex Lifeson feels like it never seems like right time to end things, and drummer Neil Peart wants to quit while they’re ahead (and before his ability to perform is diminished), it’s clear that singer/bassist Geddy Lee was not ready to go.

RUSH Announces 40th Anniversary Tour Dates

Canadian rock titans RUSH have announced a 34-date North American tour trek to commemorate their 40th anniversary. According to the band’s website, this may be their last major tour.

Rush To Cap Off 40th Anniversary With Gargantuan Live DVD/Blu-ray Box Set

Rush, the Canadian power trio that’s been going at it for over four decades now and is celebrating a milestone this year with the 40th Anniversary of their self-titled debut album, is releasing a 10 DVD/6 Blu-ray set of live performances, which span those 40 years, from a high school concert with the original drummer John Rutsey, right up to their current global domination on the stage.

The box set, entitled R40 (which is a continuum of their successful R30 tour and DVD sets a decade ago), will be released on November 11, 2014 and spans the entire Rush timeline, and there are more than a couple of aces in the hole.
