Attention, swashbucklers! Get out your swords and mount your horses. BBC One is launching a new drama series, The Musketeers, based on Alexandre Dumas‘ classic book, The Three Musketeers, and has released a one-minute trailer.
Watch the trailer here below.
With the show beginning in January 2014, fans can expect to see Doctor Who‘s Peter Capaldi portraying Cardinal Richelieu.
The first trailer for director Paul W.S. Anderson‘s new action movie, The Three Musketeers, has been released online.
The movie certainly looks interesting — perhaps even a little too action-packed — as you might expect from an Anderson flick. You can see for yourself by checking out the trailer below; share your thoughts in the comments!
A few new images from the set of Paul W.S. Anderson‘s new adaptation of The Three Musketeers have shown up online.
The pictures show Mads Mikkelsen (King Arthur, Casino Royale) as Rochefort, and Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief star and former Spider-Man candidate Logan Lerman as the lead, D’Artagnan. It’s not the best peek at Lerman, but as you’ll see, Mikkelsen looks pretty awesome.
We first heard about the movie last September when it was announced that Anderson would be directing his own 3D adaptation of the classic Alexandre Dumas story.
Be sure to continue on and check out some of the first images of the new Three Musketeers now!
Now comes word that Bloom has indeed accepted the offer and will be in the film. The actor will actually play a villain in the very smooth Duke of Buckingham, who intensely-rivals the Musketeers and their rebellious ways.
Also new to the cast is James Corden (Planet 51, Gulliver’s Travels), who will be playing a servant named Planchet.
Back in June of 2008, we discovered that a new movie was being developed based on the 1844 Alexandre Dumas classic, The Three Musketeers. At the time, not too much was known about the project, and as you can tell, it has been a while since any updates have been offered.
Now, with the title set up and cozy at Warner Brothers, it looks like things are about to set sail. The studio has Producer Lionel Wigram in place, and Peter Straughan has been hired to write the screenplay.
Wigram has done a lot of work with Warner Bros. over the years; he’s had a big hand in the success of the Harry Potter franchise, and was a producer on both Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince. He was also a writer and producer on Guy Ritchie’s new take on Sherlock Holmes, which is crucial because that’s exactly where they want to go with this new Three Musketeers adventure. The hopes and plans are to make it fun and exciting to appeal to younger audiences, and to hopefully score another big franchise out of it.
