Supergirl announced Friday that Laura Benanti would not be returning as Kara Danvers aka Supergirl’s birth mother, Alura Zor-El, in the upcoming 3rd season. Erica Durance, who played Lois Lane in the Superman series, Smallville, will take over the recurring role.

This will be the musical icing on top of the crossover cake.
Supergirl is going right for the ratings, as casting has gotten underway for the role of Clark Kent aka Superman! This show has been through some exciting changes recently, and now it will finally have the Man of Steel meet his cousin, Kara (Melissa Benoist) for the first 2 episodes of season 2.
