And now Netflix has confirmed that John Cho, Mustafa Shakir, Daniella Pineda, and Alex Hassell have been cast in the Cowboy Bebop series. More on the report below.
Last year we found out that a TV series based on the hit Japanese anime Cowboy Bebop was being developed. Now that adaptation has found itself a home.
It’s been announced that the series will be coming to Netflix, a co-production between the streaming service and Tomorrow Studios. You can find more information on the project and who’s involved below.
Say what you want about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but the film grossed $477 million worldwide and currently holds the number 12 spot on the top grossing films of 2014.
Of course with numbers like that, you knew Paramount was going to follow that up with a sequel. While it was first thought that Jonathan Liebesman, who directed the last film, would return to direct Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, it’s being reported that the studio is now in talks with Earth To Echo helmer David Green to direct the sequel. More after the jump.
Another ’80s movie is set to get remade. This time it’s 1985’s Explorers, a movie that starred River Phoenix, Ethan Hawke, and Jason Presson as a trio of friends who build a real spacecraft. The original was made by Gremlins and The Howling director Joe Dante.
The remake is through Insurge, a low-budget arm of Paramount Pictures, with Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol writers Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec producing.
