  |

Greetings, true believers. BAADASSSSS! is here with the fifth exciting issue of my ongoing series of articles The Ten Best Unproduced Comic Book Movie Scripts. The 10 Best Unproduced Comic Book Movie Scripts #2: ‘Asylum: Batman Vs. Superman’
  |

Greetings, true believers. BAADASSSSS! has returned with the second long-awaited edition of The 10 Best Unproduced Comic Book Movie Scripts.

If you haven’t checked out my bloated, unwieldy nerdgasm of an introduction to the series as well as a complete week-by-week breakdown of clues to each entry on this list you may do so here.

For this sophomore entry in my little venture through territory well-traveled and much more elegantly chronicled I have chosen a script that is bound to elicit its fair share of dissenting opinions. David Fincher’s ‘20,000 Leagues Under The Sea’ May Take Production To Australia; Brad Pitt Probably Won’t Star [Updated]
  |  @   |

When last we heard about David Fincher‘s 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, Disney decided to put the film on hold for financial reasons. John Carter was a huge blow to the live-action department causing Disney to draft some new plans for some of their other riskier live-action films. Not even the casting of Brad Pitt or an “older A-list star” could convince them to move forward with the project.

There was a three-month production pause for the film when Disney decided to pull back on the project. During that time, Andrew Kevin Walker polished the Steven Zallian draft. Now that we are past the three-month pause, there is still no word on when Disney can give Fincher the go ahead to produce the film.

Disney Holds Off ‘20,000 Leagues Under The Sea’; David Fincher Courting Brad Pitt For Lead
  |  @   |

Disney is still trying to recuperate from the massive financial loss of John Carter. Their live-action department has been less than stellar as of late, so it’s really no surprise that they are holding off on making yet another expensive live-action film. Or maybe they are waiting to see what happens with The Lone Ranger before they start production for the remake of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.

The film, which will be directed by David Fincher, is currently being put on hold for now. Variety reports that during the three-month production pause, Andrew Kevin Walker will be making improvements to Steven Zallian‘s script.
