| Full Titles & Release Dates Confirmed For ‘Hobbit’ Movies As we’ve been reporting for months now, Peter Jackson has been hard at work on his two planned Hobbit film adaptations, and back in March, rumors arose about what the official titles of the two films would be.
Now, the official titles as well as the final release dates have been confirmed for the two movies: Part I, which will be released on December 14, 2012, is called The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey; Part II, which will be released a year later on December 13, 2013, is called The Hobbit: There and Back Again.

| First Teaser Trailer For Steven Spielberg’s ‘The Adventures Of Tintin’
We’ve heard a lot about the planned trilogy of performance capture Tintin movies being shared between director/producers Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson over the past year or so, and now we finally have a teaser trailer for the first of those three movies, The Adventures of Tintin. With Jackson now directing the two-part adaptation of The Hobbit, it doesn’t look like he’ll be doing anything more than producing on the Tintin movies, leaving room for someone else to step in and take the job. | Watch Now: ‘Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes’ Trailer Released
The first trailer for 20th Century Fox’s upcoming Planet of the Apes prequel, titled Rise of the Planet of the Apes, has now been released online. The movie shows the origins of the apes that eventually evolved beyond human beings and took over the planet after a scientist’s testing shows shocking advancements in evolution in one of the test subjects, named Caesar. Instead of going with costumes and makeup, it was decided long ago to use the popular performance capture/CG technologies used in movies like The Lord of the Rings trilogy, King Kong, and Avatar. To make things a little easier, the same team that worked on those films, WETA Digital, was brought in for the job. You can see the trailer below the line now.

| Video: Very Brief Peek At The Effects Of ‘Planet Of The Apes’ Prequel
A brand new and insanely short video has been released by WETA to tease the effects being used in their Planet of the Apes prequel, Rise of the Planet of the Apes (previously just called Rise of the Apes). The movie takes place well before the Apes take over all things, when tests are being performed on the animals that ultimately cause everything about them to rapidly evolve. | Gollum Actor Andy Serkis To Be Peter Jackson’s Second Unit Director On ‘The Hobbit’
Andy Serkis had many people screaming for him to be nominated for an Academy Award for his performance capture work as the creature Gollum in director Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy. He also went on help Jackson bring to life the most realistic and personality-filled King Kong we’ve ever seen using the same performance capture techniques. Now Serkis has rejoined Jackson for the two-part adaptation of The Hobbit, which has now begun filming in New Zealand. But becoming Gollum once again will not be all that the actor is doing this time around. It’s being reported that Serkis will be used as Jackson’s second unit director on the film.
