DVD Deal: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Complete Series
  |  @   |

The TV deal of the week over at Amazon this week is Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Complete Series DVD box set for only $69.99 (that’s 65% off the list price of $199.98).

Note, this deal is valid through Saturday, March 5, 2011 while supplies last.

Math time: at $69.99, you’d be paying only $10 per season! That’s a steal, considering the box set is worth getting even at the original price.

This DVD box set contains all 7 seasons of the popular Joss Whedon television series which starred Sarah Michelle Gellar as the titular vampire slayer along with Alyson Hannigan, Anthony Stewart Head, and Nicholas Brendon. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which ran from 1997 to 2003, also co-starred Eliza Dushku, Seth Green, James Marsters, and many more, as well as introduced the character of Angel (David Boreanaz), who eventually got his own spin-off show.

Fans of the TV show and comic know that the series had been with IDW Publishing which is known for titles like G.I. Joe, Star Trek, and Doctor Who, as well as many other titles. Joss Whedon, who created the Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel TV series, will be heavily involved in the new Angel comics, as he is with Buffy and Serenity. Geek God Joss Whedon & ‘Super Size Me’ Director Morgan Spurlock Want YOU For Comic Con Documentary
  |  @   |

E! Online has received some interesting news. Apparently Joss Whedon — creator of popular titles like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, Serenity, and Dollhouse — is getting ready to tag team with documentary film maker Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me, Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?) to make a documentary about the super geeks that attend Comic Con every year.

Reports are that Whedon and Spurlock will find a bunch of different people who take their geekdom very seriously. They want those of you who not only own, but often dress up in your favorite movie or TV show character’s costumes — and none of that Halloween costume crap, the real-deal outfits — to follow around for a few months.

Click on over to see a video of the folks I imagine these gentlemen are seeking!

The Gold Box spotlight deal of the day over at Amazon today is Angel: Seasons 1-5 Collectors Set DVD box set for only $52.99 (that’s 62% off the list price of $139.98).

Last time this baby was on sale it came out to less than twelve bucks each. NOW, for the sale price of $52.99 it would be like paying around $10.60 for each of the five individual seasons of Angel on DVD. That’s an insane bargain! This is definitely the lowest I’ve ever seen this box set go for.

This 30-disc DVD box set includes all five seasons of the Buffy The Vampire Slayer spin-off starring David Boreanaz (Bones) and comes with a companion booklet, a letter to fans from series creator Joss Whedon, and plenty of bonus features.
