The remake of Fright Night is right around the corner, to be released on August 19, 2011, and stars Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Imogen Poots, and David Tennant. With the countdown on, the studio has released some new international posters, focusing on the main characters, which you can see at the bottom of this post. I’m looking forward to seeing this flick, but like I’ve mentioned in a few previous posts, when it comes to remakes it always counts to be cautious. Best approach this one with a “not sure if want” attitude, folks. Having said that, however, the trailers thus far have looked impressive; and in addition we get to see Doctor Who‘s David Tennant on the big screen again. I know there’s a lot of Who fans out there that are anticipating this film simply because of Tennant’s role – and it could potentially be a bit of a springboard for the actor into some future bigger roles. Here’s hoping so, anyway. Enjoy the posters…

You know what? I was a little annoyed when the first trailers popped out for the upcoming remake of Fright Night. Don’t get me wrong – I like Colin Farrell and Anton Yelchin… but being a Doctor Who fan, I really wanted a glimpse of David Tennant. The first trailer gave us less than a second of the former Doctor. Well, finally, we have a new trailer – and this time we get a really nice glance at David Tennant’s role in the new Fright Night, as he plays Peter Vincent, the vampire-hunting actor/hero. And not only do we get a glance – Tennant clearly has claimed the Vincent role as his own. Now, being a horror fan, I have high doubts about all remakes and reboots. Only a select few seem to meet expectations, but the look of the new Fright Night seems to show some promise. Either way, I’ll reserve judgment for when I get to see the flick. In the meantime, check out the new trailer here below of Fright Night – with MORE David Tennant – which first aired during the 2011 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night. Let’s kill something!

| ‘Fright Night’ Remake Starring Colin Farrell Gets A First Trailer, Poster
The first trailer and poster for director Craig Gillespie‘s remake of the 1985 horror favorite, Fright Night, has finally been released online. To great surprise, the movie actually looks very promising. The images that were released not too long ago certainly got people curious, but now that we have a real feel for how the remake was handled, it’s a lot easier to jump on one side or the other. Personally, a lot of this movie hinges greatly on what rating it will get. Apart from that, color me intrigued. | Yelchin Out For Peter Parker, Possibly In For Harry Osborn? |

Those good ole boys over at /Film are reporting an interesting casting rumor regarding Mark Webb’s upcoming Spider-Man reboot. Anton Yelchin could be the next actor to portray Harry Osborn.
If you recall, Yelchin was one of those actors rumored to be in the running for Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the film. As we found out, the role eventually went to Andrew Garfield, but if the rumor is correct, Yelchin could still be a part of the production. I was originally OK with him being Peter Parker, but this new rumor seems a bit more interesting to me. Previously, Osborn was portrayed by one of my current favorite actors, James Franco, but I never really felt like that casting choice totally clicked. Yelchin has impressed me in pretty much every role I’ve seen him in and I would have total confidence in him if this rumor turned out to be true.
