Watch ‘The 33’ Trailer: The Chilean Mining Disaster
  |  @   |

In the summer of 2010, 33 Chilean miners were trapped underneath 2,300 feet of rock, when the mine they were working in caved in. The real-life event became the subject of international news, as people around the world watched to see the outcome. 69 days later, the 33 members were freed.

News events like these are also good for dramatizations, and come November of this year, we will get to see the big screen adaptation of the event that unfolded before the world’s eyes. The 33 stars Antonio Banderas, Rodrigo Santoro, Juliette Binoche, James Brolin, Lou Diamond Phillips, Bob Gunton, and Gabriel Byrne.

Now WB has released a trailer for the film, which you can check out below.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water (3D)
Directed by Paul Tibbitt
Starring: Tom Kenny, Antonio Banderas, Bill Fagerbakke, Clancy Brown, Rodger Bumpass, Mr Lawrence, Carolyn Lawrence
Nickelodeon Pictures /Paramount Animation
Release Date: February 6, 2015

It’s been 16 years since the debut of SpongeBob Squarepants on TV, and a little over 10 years since the last movie. It’s hard to believe it’s been that long, but now but our favorite sponge who lives under the sea is back on the big screen, and as an added bonus, in glorious 3D.

In this sequel, all of your favorite citizens of Bikini Bottom are back, and things haven’t changed a bit. Mr. Krabs (voiced by Clancy Brown) is still making tons of money off a his Krabby Pattys, and Plankton (voiced by Mr Lawrence) is going all out to steal the secret recipe — it’s kind of the classic Roadrunner/Wil E Coyote scenario. It’s up to Spongebob Squarepants to once again help in making sure that Plankton doesn’t get the secret formula, but this time there is a third player in this heist, a pirate (Antonio Banderas), who has obtained a magical book that makes whatever he writes come true. It’s mass chaos and destruction in Bikini Bottom with no Krabby Pattys to be eaten, and so the unlikely pairing of Spongeboband Plankton must figure out a way to stop the formula from being stolen.

Antonio Banderas Sci-Fi ‘Automata’ Gets A Trailer, Posters
  |  @   |

A trailer and a pair of posters have been released for Automata, an upcoming sci-fi flick starring Antonio Banderas.

The movie is set in the year 2044, at a time when the robots we’ve created have evolved past set protocols—never harm any life form, never alter itself or others—to a point where they’re at the same level of intelligence as humans, and a takeover as the dominant life form on the planet is unfolding. It centers on an insurance agent accident investigator (Banderas) who finds himself caught in the middle of this conflict between human intelligence and artificial intelligence.

While the idea of robots rising up and taking out humans is nothing new, Automata looks pretty darn awesome, like Blade Runner fusing together with a Neill Blomkamp movie, and should appeal greatly to sci-fi fans. You can see the two posters and watch the trailer below.

‘The Expendables 3’ Officially Gets A PG-13 Rating
  |  @   |

It’s become sort of a tradition with Sylvester Stallone‘s epic action series The Expendables—each movie is rumored to possibly be getting a PG-13 rating, then ultimately ends up with an R when it’s all said and done. The Expendables 2 famously had Chuck Norris state that the movie would be PG-13 (because young fans shouldn’t have to hear naughty language while watching bad guys get mowed down by big f’n guns), which was confirmed by Stallone, only later to be changed to an R.

As The Expendables 3 has approached, rumors of a PG-13 rating have of course made the rounds. But now comes word that the rating is no longer a rumor, but a sad fact. According to reports, the MPAA has given the teen-friendly flick the rating due to violence, including intense sustained gun battles and fight scenes, and language.
