Big Apple Comic Expo 2008 Picture Report

This past Saturday, I had the privilege of getting invited to the National, also known as the New York Big Apple Con. Held over 3 days, The National is one of the biggest comic conventions held in in New York City and one of the few that still even resembles what a comic convention use to be: a place that showcases comic books. Braving the rain and wind, I did my best impersonation of Jimmy Olsen and took some pictures of my day at the convention. I hope you enjoy looking at these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Exclusive: First Look at ‘Jesus Hates Zombies’ Arthur Suydam Cover

We here at Geeks of Doom are big fans of Stephen Lindsay‘s Jesus Hates Zombies comic book series, and we think that you should be to, so we were excited to learn today that Lindsay will be re-releasing the JHZ anthology Those Slack-Jaw Blues this New Year.

The big news is that not only do you have a second chance to read this excellent anthology, but you also get an exclusive cover by legendary zombie artist Arthur Suydam (Marvel Zombies), which we are proud to show right now for the first time anywhere.

Did you catch that? Arthur Suydam of Marvel Zombies fame did the cover for indie creator Stephen Lindsay’s comic book about a zombie-killing Jesus. C’mon, that’s awesome.

In case you had forgotten, 28 Weeks Later opens today and ObZomb (that’s me) says ‘Yes, yehaw, and yahoo!’ I cannot wait to feast my rotting ocular nerves upon what’s sure to be an awesomely good rip ’em up. I’m hoping we’ll get to see glimmers of Robert Carlyle‘s genius turn (IMHO) as Colqhoun in Ravenous show through a bit in 28 Weeks… man, that movie creeped me out!
