‘Red Sonja’ Film Adaptation Put On Hold Amid Bryan Singer Controversy
  |  @   |

For reasons beyond my (or anyone’s for that matter) understanding, Millennium Films hired Bryan Singer to direct a film adaptation of the Red Sonja even though the filmmaker has a reputation for poor on-set behavior and has been surrounded by a myriad of sexual assault allegations.

Though many have tried to take the pages of the comic book to the big screen, Singer’s hiring was as close as it got to getting the project off the ground. While the director has been quick to deny the sexual assault allegations, guilds and societies have made an effort to distance themselves from him. This includes the people behind the Oscar-nominated Bohemian Rhapsody, the Queen biopic from which Singer was fired.

Now it looks like enough is enough, as Millennium has put Red Sonja on hold. More on the report here below.

Kurt Russell Wishes Makers Of ‘Big Trouble In Little China’ Remake “Good Luck”
  |

Early this summer it was announced that 20th Century Fox was intent on remaking John Carpenter‘s 1986 action-comedy-horror cult classic Big Trouble in Little China with Dwayne Johnson starring as heroic truck driver Jack Burton. Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz (X-Men: First Class) are penning the script.

Kurt Russell, who played Burton in the original, was asked for his thoughts on the Big Trouble remake during an interview to promote the release of his new western Bone Tomahawk (which is pretty great by the way), and you can see what he had to say below.

‘Power Rangers’: ‘Me And Earl And The Dying Girl’ Star & More Added To Cast
  |  @   |

As expected, Dean Israelite has gone with relative unknowns to play the titluar heroes in Power Rangers. We saw a glimpse of who Israelite was looking at when they started testing for the roles of the five teenagers earlier this month. However, the only one to be confirmed from those testings so far is Naomi Scott (The Martian, The 33). Newcomer, Dacre Montgomery was also announced earlier this month as Jason the Red Ranger.

Now two more actors will be receiving their power coins and morphers. The official Power Rangers Twitter account confirmed that Ludi Lin (Monster Hunt, Netflix’s Marco Polo) and Me and Earl And The Dying Girl star RJ Cyler will be joining the cast. Find out who they will be playing below.

‘Power Rangers’ Testing AnnaSophia Robb and Other Young Talent For Hero Roles
  |  @   |

It has been slow-going, but Lionsgate is finally getting ready to cast Power Rangers. This past summer, a character description list revealed that the team would be comprised of Jason, Zack, Billy, Trini, and Kimberly – these are the names of the five who would become the first power rangers. The descriptions followed the basic character tropes of natural-born leader, the cool-guy, the nerd, the calm and collected person, and the popular pretty one.

Now, a new shortlist reveals who director Dean Isrealite and Lionsgate are looking at to fill those roles. Check out who is auditioning for what role here below.
