Picture it”¦ beautiful sandy beaches, gorgeous babes running in slow-mo”¦ and of course”¦ THE HOFF! If you were growing up in the 1990s, Baywatch, and David Hasselhoff were a crucial part of the pop culture zeitgeist. It was at-the-same-time ridiculous, over the top, campy, sexy and fun. “They’re sharks, they’re scary. No one wants to be eaten. I’ve been eaten, and I’m here to tell ya, it takes more than that to keep a good man down!”

You know a movie is a certain type of special when it begins with a shark attack on an airplane. Welcome back to the world of Sharknado! Capitalizing on the Discovery Channel’s money grab “Shark Week,” SyFy’s Asylum Productions hit gold with 2013’s Sharknado. Since Jaws in 1975, sharks have captivated American audiences and no one in recent years has profited more than SyFy channel, which has produced countless “epic” shark films including Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus, Ghost Shark, and last year’s Sharknado, a film about ferocious storms sweeping up all types of monster sharks and sending them flying into coastal California.

Following the mantra of “go big or go home,” Sharknado 2: The Second One begins with the titular weather event arriving in New York at the same time as Finn Shephard and April Wexler (Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, respectively), our heroes from part 1. He is a Sharknado celebrity and is immediately called upon to save the city from the horrors of flying CGI Great Whites.
