A happy belated Canada Day to all my friends north of the border and a happy early Independence Day to all my friends in the U.S. Hope you all get to enjoy a nice three-day weekend, unless you have to work, which I can’t really help you with. What I can help you with is comics, specifically what comics to buy this week. So celebrate your freedom by supporting capitalism in all its glory and buying some comics. It’s what Cap and Supes and especially the U.S. Agent want you to do. And if you want to make them sad this week that’s fine, all you have to do is ignore the advice of The GoD List!

It’s another jam packed week with tons of new series from Marvel (All-New Invaders, Image (Deadly Class), DC (Harley Quinn #2), and the return of The Unwritten from Vertigo with Unwritten Vol. 2 Apocalypse #1. There’s also the end of a much loved series (at least by me) with the final issue of FF (FF #16). So you’ve got that, plus new issues of Mind MGMT, a great jumping-on point for Valiant’s Eternal Warrior, as well as the first trade for the same series. And then we’ve got the books below which are all more than worth your time and money, so let’s dive on in to an all new GoD List!

Well, we’re back after a nice holiday break, and once again we’re ready to bring you a hot stack of comics to pick up this week. It’s been a pretty wild couple of weeks so we’re going to play a little catch up today with books that you may have missed while we were gone. Also, remember that comics are out a day early this week because of the New Year’s holiday, so if you’re planning to go to your local store on Wednesday (New Year’s Day), double check that they won’t be closed that day. And if they are open that day, maybe bring them a little bit of hangover food and remember to use your indoor voice, because they may be a little worn out from partying. So, without further ado, it’s time to let old acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind, because it’s time for The GoD List!
