We all know the story. Things go awry when said teen (Marty) gets sent back in time instead and lands in all sorts of hot water. His mom has a crush on him, he has to train his dad to stand up for himself, and the town bully (boss in the future) is on his case. He also accidentally almost erases himself from existence. With the help of the “Doc” from the past, Marty must right the wrongs and get Back to the Future! But what happens when you put the most famous writer of all time’s stamp on it?

A delightful mix of ’80s fun and loquacious language. Check out more on William Shakespeare’s Get Thee Back to the Future! by Ian Doescher here below.

Rock and Roll Titan and Pioneer Chuck Berry Has Died
  |

Chuck Berry, the unfounded absolute legend and major crafter of much of the archetypical sounds and styles of the genesis of rock and roll, was found dead today in St. Charles, MO. He was 90.

Without question, the superlatives that have been foisted upon Berry ever since he exploded onto the scene in the early 1950s have never been placed incorrectly. It’s a simple equation: Without Chuck Berry, there wouldn’t be rock and roll, period. He made a blueprint (born from his love of players like T-Bone Walker and the like who came before him) that plays out like a true blue American songbook of the rock and roll idiom. Those songs are as well known as any other in any genre in any sound any human being has ever made, and the influence has stretched long and wide, influencing a chain link of titans of the rock genre who followed, like John Lennon, Keith Richards, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, the list goes on and on endlessly.

Nike Releases Teaser Video For Self-Lacing Sneakers Inspired By ‘Back To The Future’
  |  @   |

Back in 2011 Nike produced 1,500 limited edition replicas of the Nike MAG, the self-lacing sneakers Marty McFly wore in Back to the Future II. And while they were an awesome replica, they didn’t actually self-lace and it was impossible for most people without plenty of extra cash lying around to get their hands on a pair.

A few days after that announcement, shoe engineer Tinker Hatfield—creator of the Pump sneakers and designer of the MAG replicas—said they were still working on the self-lacing technology and would have it ready by 2015, the year they travel to in Back to the Future II. 2015 has come and gone with no self-lacing sneakers, but hope is not lost. Nike has released a teaser video for self-lacing sneakers called HyperAdapt 1.0, and you can check it out below.

DeLorean: ‘Back To The Future’ Car Back In Production Over 30 Years Later
  |  @   |

It’s been over 30 years since the last new DeLorean was built. Now it looks like the car that was made famous by the Back to the Future movies is heading back into production soon.

The company went bankrupt due to a combination of lack of demand and owner John DeLorean being arrested for conspiring to smuggle millions of dollars worth of cocaine (a charge he was later acquitted of) into the United States. Businessman Stephen Wynne eventually purchased the company and moved it to Humble, Texas in 1987, where they’ve been restoring the cars for those who already own them or refurbishing them for sale to those who want to purchase one. Now it appears the laws that were preventing them from manufacturing brand new DeLoreans are being changed.
