‘Arkham Asylum,’ ‘Arkham City’ Prequel ‘Batman: Arkham Origins’ Announced

Remember back in February when a Warner Brothers executive said a new game in the ultra popular Batman video game franchise—which includes Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham Citywas on the way, but few people believed it was legit because no one knew Rocksteady Games was working on it? It turns out it was true, and that no one knew Rocksteady was working on it because Rocksteady is not working on it.

The next game in the Arkham franchise has been officially unveiled, and it will be called Batman: Arkham Origins. But instead of Rocksteady Games, it’s being made by Warner Brothers Games Montreal this time around.

Warner Brothers Exec Says New ‘Batman: Arkham’ Game Being Released In 2013

Don’t go and get too elated, fans of Rocksteady’s Batman video games, but there’s a chance that a new game in the series is on the way…possibly even this very year.

Warner Brothers recently held a meeting to discuss quarter four of 2012 and how the company is looking for 2013. Among the lengthy transcript of the meeting that was released, chief financial officer and chief administrative officer John Martin said that the next game in the “Batman Arkham” franchise will arrive this year, which obviously be good for them.
