A recent leak seemed to indicate that the next game in Electronic Arts’ Battlefield franchise would be straying from the realms of military conflict and entering some kind of much smaller cops and robbers territory, to put it simply.
This has now been confirmed with the unveiling of an official website for Battlefield: Hardline. Unlike other entries in the series, however, it sounds as if the newest game will offer its single player campaign in episodic fashion in addition to the expected multiplayer options. It’s said to be somewhat along the same lines as the FX series The Shield as far as the characters and action goes.
Amazon is running a deal with week where you can get Battlefield game downloads for as low as $5 each (and up to 75% off!), including Battlefield 3, Battlefield Heroes Starter Packs, Battlefield Bad Company 2, and more.
TorrentFreak has released a rundown of the most pirated video games and movies of 2011.
Topping the list of games is the PC version of German developer Crytek’s hit sequel Crysis 2 with 3.92 million downloads, which is something of a surprise considering how many huge titles were released last year. It was followed by a much more expected name in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which was downloaded 3.65 million times for the PC. Battlefield 3, FIFA 12, and Portal 2 rounded out the PC list.
The video game deal of the day over at Amazon today is Battlefield 3 for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, or Download for only $34.99 each (that’s 42% off the list price of $59.95).
Note – this deal is only for today, Saturday, December 25, 2011 until 11:59pm PST while supplies last.
Amazon is running a 19 Days of Deals sale on video games this month, with today’s entry being EA Action Day, where you can save up to 33% on select video games and 40% on game downloads like like, Crysis 2, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, and Need for Speed: The Run.
