Today Universal Pictures released a new trailer for their alien invasion epic/board game adaptation Battleship, along with some images from the film. You can check them out here below.
The film focuses on five international naval fleets forced to do battle with hostile forces from outer space. Thrown into the mix are Taylor Kitsch, Liam Neeson, Rihanna, Brooklyn Decker, Asano Tadanobu, and Alexander Skarsgård. Battleship is directed by Peter Berg from a screenplay by Jon and Erich Hoeber.
Excited for Battleship? I mean, how couldn’t you be? A horrible cast (save for one Liam Neeson), a mediocre director at the helm, and what can best be described as a dreadful trailer all have been shared in the same breath as the title of this film, and have since sent this movie down the ladder of most anticipated projects coming down the pipeline.
Well, thanks to Entertainment Tonight, we have a new set video for the film, and I must say, it doesn’t do much for me.
The $10 t-shirt deal of the day over at TeeFury today is a mash-up of Battlestar Galactica and the game Battleship called “You Sunk My Battlestar” by artist R Conway.
The sale began at Teefury today, Thursday, September 1, 2011, at midnight EST, and will continue for 24 hours from then, and once it’s over, it will not be sold on the site anymore.
Fans of weapons, musicians, and big budget blockbusters have just found their new favorite story.
Rihanna Daily has posted a new photo of the hugely popular singer-turned-actress Rihanna with what appears to be a big freaking gun on the set of her upcoming film, Battleship.
The photo itself looks just as entertaining as the first trailer for the board game “adaptation,” which stars Taylor Kitsch, Brooklyn Decker, and Liam Neeson and follows a young man looking to not only prove the father of his main squeeze wrong, but also save his crew from an impending alien invasion.
We’ve known for a while now that director Peter Berg (The Rundown, The Kingdom) would be taking the unlikeliest of routes when he took the popular board game, Battleship, and turned it into a movie. Instead of just going with a movie about a bunch of ships doing battle in the middle of the ocean, it was decided to add a little spice in the form of an alien invasion.
In the movie, Naval officers based on the USS John Paul Jones (named for the man who’s getting his own slightly twisted movie titled Here There Be Monsters) discover a strange craft that turns out to be aliens who are attempting to build a power source from the Earth’s oceans.
You can check out the first trailer for Battleship and read a synopsis by continuing on below now.
