Last week on Vikings, Harbard (guest star Kevin Durand) was generous with the love of the women of Kattegat. The Vikings were defeated at Paris. Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) realized how Rollo (Clive Standen) betrayed him. He screamed to Rollo, “This is how you repay my love!” I felt that. I think Gisla (Morgane Polanski) also felt the feelings Rollo still has for Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick). Rollo anticipated their every move and Helga (Maude Hirst) almost died. Ragnar did save Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) from drowning though. Ecbert (Linus Roache) went to Mercia to talk with Prince Wigstan, who basically handed it over.

Last week on Vikings, both Ragnar and King Ecbert (Travis Fimmel and Linus Roache) were visited by the spirit of Athelstan (Guest star George Blagden). Ecbert took it to mean that his beloved Athelstan was dead, and he told Judith (Jennie Jacques) so. Ragnar’s vison said “Mercy” three times. Because of this, Ragnar let Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) go for Helga’s (Maude Hirst) sake. Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) fights a bear in the wilderness. Meanwhile Erlendur and Kalf (Edvin Endre and Ben Robson) plot Bjorn’s death using a crazy Berserker, pretty much in the same moment Kalf declares his love for Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick). Gisla humiliates Rollo (Morgane Polanski and Clive Standen) once more.

Last week on Vikings, Aethelwulf (Moe Dunford) led a mission to stamp down the Mercia rebellion and rescue Queen Kwenthrith (Amy Bailey). King Ecbert (Linus Roache) really didn’t care about her. He just wanted her boy, Magnus (Lothbrok?), saved. While husband’s away, the cat Judith (Jennie Jacques) will play… artist by defying gender bias (with Ecbert’s help), and study art with Athelstan’s doppelganger. Ecbert made her so happy. Rollo mimed war strategy with Count Odo (Owen Roe). Count Odo is secretly plotting against the Emperor and Princess (Lothaire Bluteau and Morgane Polanski). His confidante mistress is secretly plotting with someone else against Count Odo. Rollo (Clive Standen) is so out of his league. He tries a makeover to please Princess Gisla who laughs at him. Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) escapes and the kids find him. He is strung up with water torture. Bjorn tries to survive in the snowy wilderness. Ragnar pities Helga (Travis Fimmel and Maude Hirst), and helps her bury her child.

Last week on Vikings, Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) finally awoke to a Kattegat full of Parisian riches, and Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) tied to a stump in the cold for the murder of Athelstan. Kalf (Ben Robson) named he and Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) co-rulers, but Einar (and some others) are pissed. Kalf makes an example of him, and Lagertha castrates him. Rollo and Princess Gisla (Clive Standen and Morgane Polanski) marry, and he is a gentleman on the wedding night. He is less than a gentleman when he brings an army to slaughter all the vikings camped outside of Paris. Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) leaves for the wilderness to prove to his father that he can survive. The Seer (John Kavanagh) tells Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) that a woman will one day rule Kattegat.

Check Out The ‘Vikings’ Supertease!
Vikings has given us another glimpse at the increased 20-episode season 4. I think I look forward to these little tidbits as much as the actual new episodes. Last week’s premiere found Floki (Gustaf SkarsgÃ¥rd) tied up, Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) awake, Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) leaving for the wilderness, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) is now an equal earl with Kalf (Ben Robson), and Rollo (Clive Standen) getting married. And that’s just one episode!
What can we expect from the next 19?
Check out the Vikings supertease video below.
