HBO Geek Peek: First Look At ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 8, ‘Watchmen’ TV Series, More (Video)

As we settle into 2019, HBO has released a video previewing the year ahead with first looks at many of their upcoming new series and seasons.

The video includes peeks at the much-anticipated final season of Game of Thrones, Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen TV series, new series Euphoria, upcoming miniseries Chernobyl and Catherine the Great, and new Big Little Lies, Veep, True Detective, Barry, Succession, and Divorce seasons.

HBO Releases First Trailer For ‘True Detective’ Season 3, Promo Video For 2019 Lineup Including ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 8

For anyone who might have missed it, HBO released the first trailer for True Detective season three a few days back.

In addition to the trailer, they also recently released a promo video for their 2019 lineup. This includes new seasons of the aforementioned True Detective, as well as Veep, Barry, The Deuce, Room 104, and Big Little Lies. It also includes some new series like Camping starring Jennifer Garner, The Shop, and My Brilliant Friend, a new Flight of the Conchords special, the HBO original film My Dinner with Hervé starring Peter Dinklage, the documentary Jane Fonda in Five Acts, a special titled Pod Save America, and of course, Game of Thrones season eight, the final season.

2018 WGA Awards Winners: ‘Get Out’, ‘Call Me By Your Name’

The WGA Awards is a big win for Jordan Peele‘s Get Out. The first film for the new director has been making waves this award season, having earned nominations from the DGA, PGA, and SAG, plus the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards. Now, Peele has been honored with a Writer’s Guild award for Original Screenplay for his screenplay for Get Out.

Meanwhile, Call Me By Your Name also earned top honors for Best Adaptive Screenplay, while The Handmaiden’s Tale, Big Little Lies, and Veep took home TV awards. Check out more about the winners here below.

DGA Awards 2018 Winners: ‘Get Out,’ ‘The Shape Of Water,’ ‘Big Little Lies’ Earn Top Honors

The 70th Directors Guild of America Awards (DGA) have been given out, two of which went to directors who will be vying for the Academy Award for Best Director next month. While Guillermo del Toro earned an award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for his work on period piece fairy tale The Shape Of Water, Jordan Peele took home the award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement of a First-Time Feature Film Director for his work on the terrifying thriller Get Out.

These awards are oftentimes a predictor of who will win the award for a said guild. SAG typically predicts who will win the performing awards, WGA the writing, PGA the best picture, and DGA the director. Check out the list of winners 2018 DGA winners for film and TV here below.

SAG 2018 Winners ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’ Outshines The Competition

It’s pretty clear that the Screen Actors Guild is completely blown away by the performances in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, as it took home three SAG awards. The film, which pretty much did the same at the Golden Globes, has been a bit polarizing due to the film’s content.

Last night, the film took home awards for best actress, best supporting actor, and best cast. Meanwhile, the big winners on the TV side include This Is Us and Big Little Lies. Check out the full list of winners below.
