Must-Listen: ‘BioShock: A Radio Drama’
  |  @   |

BioShock is one of my all-time favorite games, and I’ve been itching to return to the underwater city of Rapture for some time now. I’ve played the opening many times—again, one of the very best—but haven’t seen it through since that first time. That changed earlier this month, and it was just as beautiful and terrifying and unforgettable as ever. And it came with an added bonus.

While searching for related videos on YouTube, I came across this little treat. BioShock: A Radio Drama—an impressive old school style radio production adapted from BioShock and the John Shirley novel BioShock: Rapture. And this isn’t just a few minutes for fun, either; this is a two-part (so far), over two-and-a-half-hour production, with top-notch voice acting and sound work.

You can give it a listen below the surface!

2K Games Teases New ‘BioShock’
  |  @   |

Though it came as a shock when it was announced that BioShock and BioShock Infinite developer Irrational Games was closing, it was made clear right away that there would still be new games in the series coming eventually. When that might be was, and remains, unknown.

But while we still don’t know what the next BioShock game will be or when it will be arriving, 2K Games has begun teasing something in the form of an image shared via the Twitter. Whether it’s for a brand new entry in the main series, a smaller title on different platforms, a remastered re-release of one of the previous games on next-gen systems, or just a cruel tease? That’s all up in the air.

You can check out the image below and share your thoughts on what it might mean below.

‘BioShock Infinite’ Barbershop Quartet Cosplayers Sing “God Only Knows” (Video)
  |  @   |

One of the coolest things about BioShock Infinite is the collection of songs you hear throughout the game that are old-timey covers of popular tunes that won’t be recorded until decades after the 1912-set story. Some of the songs covered include “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” and “Tainted Love.”

My personal favorite of these songs comes early on in the game, before the story really gets started and you’re just walking around taking in the incredible world you’re visiting. When you walk past a certain point, a floating stage ship appears carrying a barbershop quartet who sing a lovely rendition of the Beach Boys classic “God Only Knows.” It’s one of many surreal and memorable moments that make Infinite a must-play.

PAX East was recently held and lots of great cosplayers attended the convention. One group of said cosplayers went as the BioShock barbershop quartet, and not only did they look the part but also delivered the song as well.

You can see a video of the quartet in the game (if you haven’t played yet) and a video of the cosplayers singing below.

2K Games Confirms More ‘BioShock’ Games After Surprise Closing Of Irrational Games
  |  @   |

Earlier this week came the surprising news that BioShock and BioShock Infinite developer Irrational Games would be closing its doors soon, leaving the future of the franchise up in the air.

Considering that publisher 2K Games has already made a direct sequel to the original game in 2010, not to mention the fact that Irrational co-founder Ken Levine said they would be handing the reins to 2K now, it was assumed that they would almost certainly be making at least one more title in the series at some point. Now 2K has confirmed their intentions.

You can read what they said below.
