Black Metal Friday: Darkthrone “Tundra Leech”

You know it’s going to be a good week whenever there is a new Darkthrone track. When said track is a return to form that harkens back to the band’s ’90s heyday, you know it’s going to be a great week. And that is where today finds us. The Norwegian gods of black metal have gifted us with the first single from their upcoming sixteenth studio album Arctic Thunder, which will be released on October 14, 2016 via Peaceville Records. After nearly a dozen year diversion, Darktrhone have decided to cast off the black-n-roll and crust punk diversions and get back down to their black metal roots.

Black Metal Friday: Feign “Lunarity”

Feign is a one-man, atmospheric, black metal band from Sanford, Maine. Project mastermind Jacob Lizotte released two very highly acclaimed demos under the Feign moniker in 2015 and today, July 29, 2016, sees the release of his first full-length album Atlas via Into The Night Records.

The album is streaming in its entirety over at Metal Underground, but you can check out the first single right here below. The track is called “Lunarity” and it’s our featured song for this Black Metal Friday.

Black Metal Friday: Young and In The Way (YAITW) “Final Dose”

Young And In The Way hails from the unlikely locale of Charlotte, North Carolina. The band formed in 2009 and has been highly prolific in spreading their unique blend of crust punk and black metal. In just seven short years, YAITW has released two full-length albums, four EPs, and four 7″ splits.

When Life Comes to Death from 2014 is their most recent full-length album. One of the singles from that record is our selection for this week’s Black Metal Friday. Black Metal Friday: Inquisition “Wings of Anu”

Columbian black metal duo Inquisition has been blazing new trails since 1988. Originally working in the thrash metal vein in their native country, the band would soon relocate to the United States and turn their focus to creating some of the earliest second wave black metal. That is a course that they have stayed ever since. The band has honed and refined their evil attack with each of their ten albums, leading them to their current status as one of the world’s most respected black metal units.

In 2012, Inquisition signed with the highly prestigious underground metal label Season of Mist and released the critically acclaimed fan favorite Obscure Verses for the Multiverse. Now, we’re getting our first glimpse of the highly anticipated follow up. Inquisition’s eleventh album, Bloodshed Across the Empyrean Altar Beyond the Celestial Zenith, will be released via Season of Mist on August 26, 2016.
