SDCC 2016: Scream Factory Reveals 13 New Blu-ray Releases

For many years Shout! Factory has been an important presence at the San Diego Comic-Con, using their panels and booths to promote current and upcoming releases on DVD and Blu-ray. When the company launched their horror/sci-fi imprint Scream Factory in 2012, their pilgrimage to the Con to announce future releases became one of the hottest events around for film geeks and home video consumers.

Scream has been responsible for some of the finest Blu-ray editions of the greatest genre features ever made, and last night they announced that soon they will add 13 titles to their ever-expanding library.

‘Deadpool’: Special Features Revealed For The Blu-ray You’re Already Gonna Buy

20th Century Fox has revealed the full list of special features for their upcoming home video release of Deadpool, the shockingly successful superhero action-comedy which has grossed over $745 million at the worldwide box office and hits big box retailers and online stores in a matter of weeks. ‘Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan’ Returning To Blu-ray With Remastered Director’s Cut

The best of the Star Trek movie franchise is coming back to Blu-ray and it promises to look and sound better than ever before.

In celebration of Star Trek‘s 50th anniversary, this summer Paramount Home Media will re-release Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan in a new Blu-ray Edition that will include both the theatrical version and the slightly longer Director’s Cut available for the first time in high-definition.

‘Ant-Man’ Blu-ray Release Trailer, Plus BTS Footage (Video)

Avengers: Age of Ultron may have received the bulk of the hype (not to mention the box office), but it was Ant-Man (check out Adam Frazier’s review at GoD from July, as well as my complete timeline of the film’s troubled development) that turned out to be the Marvel Studios’ summer release of 2015 that had audiences going back for second (and maybe third and fourth) helpings. I know I did.

Over a week following the surprise announcement that Marvel had put into development a sequel called Ant-Man and the Wasp for July 2018, the studio has revealed that the original that proved to be a resounding success with critics and audiences will be coming to home video on multiple viewing formats including Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray just in time for the holiday shopping season.

‘The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies’ Extended Edition Coming To Blu-ray & DVD

Peter Jackson‘s unparalleled epic film adaptation of the beloved fantasy novels of J.R.R. Tolkien will be drawing to a close – for now – with the forthcoming home video release of the extended edition of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. The shortest in running time of all of Jackson’s Tolkien features will be available on DVD, Blu-ray, and 3D Blu-ray later this Fall just in time for the post-Thanksgiving holiday shopping frenzy.
