Watching ‘Before Watchmen’: Analyzing The ‘Watchmen’ Prequel Comic Book Event
  |

Earlier today, my overlord and master Empress Eve posted an article telling all of you about the “it’s really happening, isn’t it?” Watchmen prequel comics miniseries collection entitled Before Watchmen coming this Summer from DC Comics.

Well folks, I have been tasked to bring you my opinions on the creative teams and titles and to put it shortly, this whole thing is hilarious to me.

The GoD List: Comics For December 21, 2011
  |

Each and every week “The American Dragon” MK2Fac3 and “Long Island Iced C” Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of December 21, 2011. Single issues and trades, they’re all here.

It’s been a while since I’ve been this excited about comics, because we’ve got a lot of comics coming out this week that have the potential of being some of the finest of the year. We’ve got the return of Batman Incorporated with two of the best artists working in the business, we get the crazy brought to us by Neal Adams in his Batman Odyssey mini-series, as well as many other titles like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Scott Snyder’s Batman, Mark Waid’s Daredevil, Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang’s Wonder Woman, Jason Aaron’s Puninshermax, and many other excellent comics. In fact, some of the finest DC Relaunch titles are coming out this week. But there’s no way we could fit all of this awesome into one small list, so what we’ve done is condensed it, much like milk, and unloaded what we consider to be the comics that will blow us out of the water the hardest. Whether they be the most “important” comics, or if they’re just created by our favorites, one thing can be for certain, they’re what we’re looking forward to the most. For we are The HenchFac3, and this is The GoD List.

DC/Vertigo
Release date: October 26, 2011

Brian Azzarello. Eduardo Risso. These are two comic creators whose names create instant excitement when attached to a new project, especially when they are on the same book, as they are with their new series from DC/Vertigo, which launches this week with Spaceman #1. Azzarello and Risso are the team that brought us a landmark run with their series 100 Bullets. They were also the team for possibly the best thing to come out of DC’s Flashpoint event, with their Batman: Knight of Vengeance mini-series. So, when they start a new project, it’s easy to get me and many other comics fans excited. It’s a good thing then that Spaceman is very good, because you do not want to see a bunch of fanboys get pissed off when things don’t live up to their expectations.

Digital Comics Deal: ‘Superman/Batman’ For 99 Cents Each
  |

DC Comics and comiXology are offering a super sale this weekend with the Superman/Batman half-off digital comics deal.

Out of all of the digital comics deals I’ve seen, this might just be the most impressive. And why is that? Well, every single issue of the 87-issue run is on sale for a mere 99 cents. Yes, that’s right. Every. Single. Issue.

Wonder Woman Gets All New Origin (Again)
  |

DC Comics announced on Monday that Wonder Woman, one of their top characters, was getting an all new origin. Aw yeah, origins!

People love big deals. And one of the biggest deals in comics over the past few years is the DC Relaunch. And rightly so. I mean, it’s one of the biggest comic book companies in the industry sort of erasing their entire history to start over. I say sort of because they didn’t make a real cut, they picked and chose what to relaunch and what to keep. But still, it’s a safe way to appeal to any new reader that the products could appeal. Except for Legion Lost and Legion of Super Heroes, because their number one issues certainly weren’t good places to start.
