Last night’s Super Bowl LIII did not quite live up to any of our expectations. In what was the lowest scoring game in Super Bowl history, a lot of fans took to a second screen to look at some of the best that movie studios had to offer and catch up on some of the ads they may have missed. But even most of the ads failed to live up to the prestige that comes with being an TV spot that appears during the big game.
However, one ad, in particular, caught us all by surprise. And that is the Bud Light and Game Of Thrones commercial. Avid TV watchers would know that their campaign sees a lot of alcohol being consumed during the medieval era. Though when and where this all took place was very unclear. But now, it looks like we have a slight idea, as a knight of the Bud Light kingdom clashes with GoT‘s Gregor Clegane aka The Mountain himself. And there are even more shocking moments. Check out the extended version of this commercial here below.
While fans of the Seattle Seahawks lick their wounds and fans of the New England Patriots celebrate accordingly, the rest of the world now debates the important questions about the Super Bowl, such as “Which movie trailer did you like most?” or more importantly, “Which ad was the best?” Because after all, that’s what the non-sportsing types care about.
Ever since Apple’s ‘1984’ ad against Big Brother, the stakes go up every year for advertising for the Super Bowl. While this year seemed to be “The Year of Emotional Outcry,” there were still a few spots that went for that “Oh, that’s cool” factor. Some talk on social media is that an early frontrunner for “favorite” is the Bud Light “Pac Man” commercial amongst the more geeky viewers. In it, a patron at a bar who’s “Up For Anything,” is unwittingly turned into the legendary Pac-Man video game icon. The patron then runs around a giant grid avoiding the ghosts just like in the classic arcade game.

During Sunday night’s Super Bowl, we posted throughout the evening the Super Bowl commercials that pertained to movies and television that were aired during the big game as well as during the pre-Game, Halftime, and post-Game shows.
But, there’s still a lot more ad offerings from Super Bowl XLIX — which saw the returning champs The Seattle Seahawks go up against The New England Patriots in Glendale, Arizona’s University Of Phoenix Stadium — that we didn’t get to post. So now, we’re collecting them all here below for your enjoyment, since there was plenty of new TV and movie footage revealed, and of course, those clever and celebrity-filled product commercials.
I didn’t include every commercial shown, as some didn’t pertain to our type of entertainment and some I just didn’t enjoy or care about. Instead, I’ve embedded most of the movie and TV spots, along with my favorites from all those car and soda-type adverts, most of which feature celebrities.
