Unfortunately, what could have been the next Twilight or Hunger Games did poorly at the box office and was panned by critics.
Now, the property is being relaunched — but this time, as a television series, according to THR.

A new trailer for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones has appeared before us internet mundanes and aims to slice its way into our hearts. City of Bones is based off the New York Times best-selling young adult urban fantasy series The Mortal Instruments written by Cassandra Clare. The movie is directed by Norwegian film director Harald Zwart. He is the director responsible for such films as Agent Cody Banks and the 2010 The Karate Kid remake.
