Top Gamers, Geeks & Cosplayers Do Battle For YouTube Geek Week’s Gaming Thursday

For those of you who are unaware, this week is not only Shark Week but also Geek Week over on YouTube, dedicated to all things geek…and you know we can get behind that!

Today, Thursday, August 8th, is the part of Geek Week dedicated solely to video games, and that’s awesome. Dubbed “Gaming Thursday,” the day will be chock full of live play-throughs, video games in real life, game-inspired original series, and plenty more. Headlining the day will be one of the most known and respected named in video game news and videos, Machinima. They’ll have loads of gaming-themed videos, as well as the debut of a brand new original video titled YouTube at WAR! Epic Video Game BATTLE!

This new video will feature some of the world’s top gamers and game channels, such as Seannaners, Syndicate, Rooster Teeth, and iHasCupquake, geek and internet celebrities like Nerdist’s Chris Hardwick, cosplayers, and more all facing off in a massive Let’s Play battle featuring many of their favorite video games.

SDCC 2013: ‘Breaking Bad’ Panel

For five seasons, Breaking Bad viewers have followed former chemistry teacher Walter White as he made the journey from hopeless cancer victim to ruthless drug lord, but all bad things must come to and end, and AMC’s hit drama held its very last panel at San Diego’s Comic-Con Sunday morning. Creator and executive producer Vince Gilligan appeared with the cast, including Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn, Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, R. J. Mitte, and Bob Odenkirk, in a panel moderated by Chris Hardwick.

Hardwick noted that the show has recently been nominated for 13 Emmys this season, and that he would be hosting an after show discussion on AMC called Talking Bad.

SDCC 2013: ‘Godzilla’ Panel Shows Off New Footage

The King of Monsters invaded San Diego Comic-Con in Hall H this Saturday in a panel hosted by Legendary Pictures

On the panel was director Gareth Edwards, and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, and Bryan Cranston. The Legendary panel was moderated by Chris Hardwick.

The panel began with Warner Bros./Legendary’s now traditional opening of the projection screens on either side of the main screen to create a more immersive experience. Over these screens, A-bomb footage played, leading to the film’s title over the screens, followed by a re-screening of last year’s Con footage.

The bad guy doesn’t want to be a bad guy. Have we seen this plot before? Maybe to some respect, but Ralph takes this concept to a most pioneering level where puns and references a plenty do not interfere with sophisticated storytelling. Supposedly-villainous Ralph just wants some appreciation, so he ventures outside his ’80s-era game to prove his worth. He attains that value via unexpected means, meets some crazy folks along the way, and realizes his potential in who he has always been.

SDCC 2012: ‘Frankenweenie’ Panel With Tim Burton

Frankenweenie, the upcoming Tim Burton vehicle which has been a pet project for him since his inception as a filmmaker/animator almost three decades ago, first appearing as a short and now finding its way as a full length feature, had its debut today at Comic-Con.

Hosted by Chris Hardwick and first introduced by some 3D footage of the upcoming production which was akin to an old Universal Pictures trailer, replete with black and white and overblown narration, Frankenweenie is a film about a boy’s resurrection of his beloved dog.
