‘God Particle’: ‘Cloverfield’ Spinoff May Be Released By Netflix
  |  @   |

The Cloverfield films have been known to have an unorthodox marketing campaign. From out of nowhere a trailer can appear for a film that was produced under a different title. And for the most part, this strategy has worked. It may not produce wild box office numbers like blockbuster tentpoles do, but under the production and marketing budget of the two films so far, it is enough of a hit to warrant more.

However, it appears that Paramount Pictures is having second thoughts about releasing the next Cloverfield film, which is tentatively titled God Particle. There are reports now that the film might be heading to Netflix. More on the story below.

How ‘God Particle’ Became Connected To The ‘Cloverfield’ Universe
  |  @   |

Cloverfield sequels aren’t exactly sequels, but they aren’t exactly spinoffs either. So while 10 Cloverfield Lane may have a similar title, it isn’t a direct sequel, it is a spiritual sequel that shares loose connections to its predecessor. Basically, these films are a part of a larger universe. The characters just don’t know it. But it is the fact that you never see these films coming that is not only surprising but refreshing.

But to hide that 10 Cloverfield Lane was related, the film was shot as Valencia and then changed its title a few months before release. With the Cloverfield films popular again, it’s easy to see why people might be more interested in any new titles from Bad Robot and Paramount.

However, Paramount isn’t exactly being secretive about God Particle being the next chapter of the series. In fact, we are learning more about the film and how it ended up being connected. Check it out below.

Now that much bigger thing is beginning to become even more clear. It’s been revealed that a movie titled God Particle, which Abrams has been attached to as a producer for a while now, is another Cloverfield-related project. More info on the movie, what it’s about, and who stars, can be found below.
