Stan Lee’s Comikaze 2014 Report

This past weekend marked my second year attending the Comikaze Expo, “Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo.” Last year, I went on a Sunday and had a long, informative, and entertaining conversation with Herb Trimpe . Sadly, Herb couldn’t attend this year, and aside from Len Wein (who I interviewed at the 2013 Long Beach Comic-Con), there really wasn’t any comics creator of a similar stature and history.

Except Stan Lee, who of course, was there, and whom I was told I would be able to pose some questions to “” and which I was hoping to post here, on the GoD page.

Convention Round-Up: First Annual Comikaze Expo

As a Southern California native I have been spoiled with comic and multimedia conventions. I have San Diego Comic Con to the south and Long Beach Comic Con to the north; the only thing I was missing was a convention at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Recently, my prayers to various Norse gods were answered in the form of Comikaze held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on November 5 and 6.

When I envision a comic, horror, anime, and gaming convention in its first year, I instantly picture 7 to 10 guys in a very poorly lit motel conference room. Comikaze definitely had its up’s and down’s in terms of pure geek culture you couldn’t ask for something greater, but as someone who is at comic conventions year-round, there was some things left to be desired. I saw a lot of things I liked and a few things I was not so crazy about, so close your eyes (then open them) and let me take you on a journey of L.A’s Comikaze.

Comikaze Expo Invades L.A. This Weekend

Los Angeles will be hosting Comikaze on November 5th and 6th this year, and it’s shaping up to be a really great convention. With a great-looking list of special guests and creators there will be plenty of appearances to please any comic, manga, sci-fi, and gaming fan. It’s now official Stan “The Man” Lee will be making an appearance and doing signings with Desert Wind Comics, tickets are limited so make sure you grab them quick.
