Digital Comics Deal: Top Shelf’s Cyber Con 5 Day Sale
  |

Top Shelf and Comixology have teamed up to provide special deal to honor San Diego Comic-Con while also giving a nice gift to those of us who couldn’t make it to San Diego this weekend with new releases and a half off sale.

Now, I’m not going to sit here and give you a bunch of examples of things you should read and things you shouldn’t, because honestly Top Shelf books range in audience style. There are comics for adults that aren’t good for kids and there are books for little kids that aren’t going to be enjoyed by a lot of adults. And while not all of these comics are for everyone, there is something here for anyone.

Digital Comics Deal: Image’s #1 (2012) Sale
  |

Image Comics has put out a great deal of amazing comics over the past few months including books like America’s Got Powers, Fatale, Saga, and so many more, and it seems like I’m not the only one who’s noticed such events. The fine folks over at Comixology are currently running a 3-day digital sale on all of the number one issues during Image’s 20th Anniversary.

Most of the time when I write up these sales, I try to differentiate between the good and the bad to tell you all what you should avoid and what you must read. Well, things are a little different here as I strongly suggest you pick up as many of these as you can. Each one of these comics has a lot to offer to readers and by having only #1 issues available, it’s a great way to test the series. Now, if it were me, I’d have to say that you should read Mind The Gap, Saga, Fatale, America’s Got Powers, The Manhattan Projects, Secret, and Heart, but like I said before, you can’t go wrong with any of these.

So, what are you going to do? I’ll give you the answer, spend $20 dollars and buy the collected #1 download. It’s simple math, you should buy each one of these comics, but there are 23 comics at $1 a piece, so spend three dollars less and get all of them. Boom. Donezo.

Digital Comics Deal: Comixology’s Grant Morrison Sale
  |

Oh my! Oh my! Comixology is having a Grant Morrison sale! For a mere 99 cents a piece, you can pick up several of Grant Morrison’s finest DC/Vertigo comics, including Doom Patrol, Batman, All-Star Superman, and more.

What’s the catch? Well, let’s get into that. Barely any of the comics on sale will provide you with a full story. While you may be teased by the mention of Batman R.I.P., Batman and Robin, and Batman Incorporated, the first thing you need to realize is that this isn’t the entire run. If you’re not reading Batman and Son or Club of Heroes, then the rest of this run won’t make any sense. But beyond that, the entire run of Batman and Robin that leads directly into Batman Incorporated is not in this sale. If you want to do that, you’re going to want to buy the regularly priced Batman and Robin #10-16. So, if you’re wanting to check this out, I really suggest you go back to Batman #655 and start from there and keep going. You won’t regret it, it’s one of the finest runs on Batman, for sure.

Digital Comics Deal: Celebrate Earth Day With ‘Swamp Thing’
  |

Swamp Thing is a character who blurs the lines of regular man who looks like a monster, a straight up piece of vegetation that looks sort of like a man, and both of things but also an eco-terrorist of sorts, but no matter how you view the character, it’s impossible to deny the fact that some of the greatest writers in comics have either written him or his ancillary characters. Also, when he’s not questioning his identity, he’s a pretty eco-friendly dude. So, it’s with this fact that Comixology is offering a 99 cent three-day sale on Swamp Thing for this weekend’s Earth Day.

Comixology has recently made these sales more manageable if you don’t exactly know what you’re looking for and have places different comics into sections that categorize them more efficiently than just, “Here’s a bunch of comics that are on sale.” These different sections for Swamp Thing are:
