NYCC 2019: ‘Creepshow’ Panel & Screening (Episode 1.2)

New York Comic-Con (NYCC) returned to the Jacob Javits Convention Center in midtown Manhattan on Thursday and provided a perfect venue for a screening of the second episode of Shudder’s new Creepshow series. Based on the 1982 horror anthology, the collaboration between George A. Romero and Stephen King was done in comic book form, with panels and the Creeper there to guide the way between stories. The new streaming series premiered on Shudder last Thursday and features six episodes with two horror stories in each, ending appropriately enough, on Halloween.

The Ghoul Log returns to Shudder this Halloween season.🎃

It’s finally October, the month where the rest of the “normal folk” catch up to the idea that horror movies are awesome! With that in mind, AMC’s horror streaming service Shudder has released its October schedule of genre movies and series. Shudder is a must-get for any horror fan, or anyone who wants to be a horror fan for a month. Aside from new releases, and Shudder Exclusive content, the streaming service has the largest and best collection of horror anywhere on the interwebs.

One of the most anticipated events for horror fans this year, the reimagining of Creepshow debuted last night on Shudder. As a lifelong fan of horror anthologies from the original Creepshow films (1982 and 1987) to Tales from the Crypt and Trick “˜r Treat, this original series had me super excited, and I’m happy to say it did not disappoint.

Coming full circle on his amazing career, Greg Nicotero acts as executive producer of the streaming series and directed the first story of the pilot episode. Each of the eight episodes consists of two horror shorts. This Creepshow pays homage to the original while adding some new flair for an overall fun and creepy horror experience. We even get an updated Creeper in the wraparound finding Creepshow comics in a familiar crate.

Watch: New Trailer and Behind The Scenes Video For Shudder’s ‘Creepshow’ Series

Shudder has released a new trailer for Creepshow, their upcoming anthology series based on Stephen King and George A. Romero‘s 1982 movie of the same name.

In addition to the new trailer, a behind the scenes video was also released last week. You can find both below, along with more info on the series and details on all 12 of the segments—two segments per episode—that we’ll see in the debut season.

But for AMC’s horror streaming service Shudder, it’s business as usual as they keep bringing the goods with new series, Shudder Exclusives, and plenty of great genre films from around the world. Check out the highlights for September 2019 here below. Note – there are 2 more Shudder Exclusives planned, one for September 12 and one for September 24, and details for these will be released closer to their respective release dates.
