Explore Iron Man’s ‘Secret Origin’ in May
  |  @   |

Marvel announced a new series launching in May courtesy of writer Kieron Gillen (Iron Man, Young Avengers) and artist Dale Eaglesham (Fantastic Four). Secret Origin is the name of the project and besides the creators and the fact that it will focus on Iron Man, who just happens to have a movie coming out in May, we don’t know much about it at this time.

Gillen said via his blog: “The biggest story I’ve done for Marvel? Sounds about right.”

As I said, the timing is right for a big Iron Man story with the third installment of the film series dropping in May. All I can tell from the preview image is that it looks like Marvel is tying his old armor in with the new. I’m sure we’ll find out more information in the near future, but in the meantime check out the teaser image here below and speculate away!

Alpha Flight is Back! We’ve Got Your First Look
  |

So Alpha Flight is Canada’s premiere super hero team. The entire team has been killed off at least once in the last couple of years, probably even more. Somehow though those resilient buggers are back to kick some butt in an all new miniseries coming from Marvel Comics.

Writers Greg Pak and Fred Van Lente and artist Dale Eaglesham will be offering up their take on the super team. This new 8-issue miniseries is a Fear Itself tie-in that finds Canada in the grip of fear and their greatest protectors named as enemies of the state. So it appears this story will follow Alpha Flight as they battle the fear and try to restore order to the Great White North.

Alpha Flight 1 of 8 hits store shelves on June 6, 2011. Check out these early images…

  |  @   |

Two new Captain America series were announced at yesterday’s MONDO MARVEL panel at C2E2Steve Rogers: Super Soldier and Captain America: Patriot. The photos here are of the sneak peeks shown at the panel.

Bad news: Dale Eaglesham is no longer drawing Fantastic Four. Good news, he’s moving over to a new series titled Steve Rogers: Super Soldier. The four-issue mini-series launches in July and is written by Captain America mastermind Ed Brubaker.

Marvel editor Tom Brevoort told the audience that the story follows Steve Rogers in his post-Siege role, and also looks into the creation of the original super soldier serum that changed him into Captain America. It will be a high octane espionage adventure and will set up events that will affect the Marvel U for the foreseeable future. Covers for the series will be done by Carlos Pacheco.
